At Derinkuyu, Mazi and Kaymakli, cities were developed underground in order for the inhabitants to hide from raiders. Elmali, St. Basil, St. Barbara, Yilanli, Karanlik, Carikli, and Tokali are some of the churches that situated in here.
Urgup is also another lively touristic center which is worth to see. There are the houses that covered with rocks where people used to live in. You can easily find carpets and kilims to buy as there is a variety of choise. Urgup is also famous with its delicious wine. Every year in October, The International Wine Festival is held here. You can join the tours in daytime and also enjon in discos and bars at nights.
